the miss robinson font at veer.com
I mean, really, this font is just so prim and proper, and full of promise. I love script fonts, for the beautiful and personal qualities that they lend to stationery and invitations.
I’ve been obsessed with perfect handwriting, um, pretty much always. As a little girl growing up lefty, I never could seem to get mine just right. For the better part of 3rd grade, I would practice and practice and practice on that thin, yellow-y lined paper, on a quest for the perfect slant and the perfect loops on my uppercase letters. But my handwriting slant seemed to almost fall backwards on itself instead of marching forward and to the right. And my teacher never seemed to be impressed – even at my best handwriting efforts. I remember being in awe of her elegant cursive and tried to study her movements as she wrote with chalk on the blackboard.
Try as I might, I still regularly would receive a “C” on my report card in…you guessed it..handwriting. I got better at it eventually, and now my handwriting is a kooky yet adorable mess of printed and cursive letters and my signature is illegible. I never quite did get the perfect penmanship down, but I found my own style.
I still get excited when I see a font like this one though…because although my real handwriting is funky and messy, now I can use a font like this to give a birth announcement or holiday card the perfect final touch. So there, 3rd grade teacher!
